Orvelter Hof has two working spaces on the ground floor: the main hall for 8 to 36 people and a separate meeting room for up to 20. How many fit depends on the layout. We set them up the way you want them; let us know which layout you need in each room when you book.
The main hall
The farmhouse's living and dining area, which we convert for your meeting into a layout that seats the whole group at tables. Daylight from two sides, doors onto the terrace and the bar right next to it.

The meeting room
A separate room with its own door, one long table, a projector and a flip chart. Meant for the smaller session — or as a second room, so a subgroup can break away while the rest keep working in the main hall.

A projector, a flip chart with markers and wifi come with every layout and are included in the package price.
Midweek the whole building belongs to one group, so you can use both rooms at once — plenary in the main hall, a subgroup in the meeting room. There is no surcharge for that.

Meeting farmhouse
A converted farmhouse, not a room off a hotel corridor
Orvelter Hof is a former Drenthe farmhouse that has been carefully converted into a place to stay. You notice it straight away: high ceilings, daylight from two sides and thick walls that keep outside noise out. As a meeting farmhouse you are not in a numbered room off a corridor, but in a building that belongs to your group alone for the day.
The building comes with a professional kitchen, its own bar and a terrace — as a business group accommodation all of that belongs to your group and is not shared with other guests. Five minutes' walk away the woods begin. That is the difference between a break in a car park and a break where your team genuinely gets away from the screen.

What does meeting at Orvelter Hof cost?
Six meeting packages from 4 to 32 hours, all per person and including room hire — both rooms. Hiring meeting space here does not get you an empty hall: no separate bill for the projector, the coffee or the flip chart — what is in the table is what is on the quote.

What clients ask us beforehand
There are two rooms. The main hall seats 8 to 36 people: theatre style takes 36, round tables 30, a hollow square 28, a U-shape 24 and boardroom style 20. The separate meeting room takes up to 20 people around one long table, 18 in a hollow square and 16 in a U-shape. Midweek you can use both at the same time, at no extra cost.
Hiring a meeting room starts at € 45.50 per person for the 4-hour package. That already covers room hire, unlimited coffee and tea, something sweet, a flip chart, a projector and wifi. With lunch it is € 59.50, a full day with lunch € 88.50 and a day with dinner € 119.50. With an overnight stay it starts at € 179.50 for 24 hours.
Yes. Orvelter Hof lets the place per group, not per room. There are no other parties wandering about and no hotel traffic passing your door. The building, the bar, the kitchen and the terrace belong to your group for the day.
A projector, a flip chart with markers and fast wifi are there as standard and are included in the package price. There is no separate hire charge. If you need specific equipment, for a hybrid session for example, let us know when you enquire.
Yes, there are 17 twin rooms with their own toilet, shower and washbasin; in total there is room for 36 people. The 24-hour package (from € 179.50) and the 32-hour package (from € 219.50) are built for this and are set out hour by hour on the Meeting with overnight stay page.
There is a professional kitchen on site. Lunch is included in the 4-hour package with lunch, the 8-hour and the 12-hour package; the 12-hour package also has a 3-course dinner. Buffets, barbecues and specific requirements — vegetarian, halal, allergies — are arranged in consultation.
Orvelter Hof is at Mr. J.B. Kanweg 7a in Witteveen, in the middle of Drenthe. It is about a 25-minute drive from Assen and Emmen, and 20 from Hoogeveen. There is ample free parking right by the door, so nobody has to circle for a space.
A meeting farmhouse is a farm building converted into a meeting venue. In our case a Drenthe farmhouse in Witteveen with a large hall, a separate meeting room, 17 bedrooms, its own kitchen and bar, and woods within walking distance. The difference from a hotel room is the quiet and the exclusivity: no other guests, no corridors, no shared lobby.
