Orvelter Hof is a former Drenthe farmhouse in Witteveen, converted into accommodation for groups. A company outing here does not take place in a slot between two other parties, but in a building that belongs to your company for the day: the hall, the bar, the kitchen, the games attic and the terrace.
Mostly, that saves you logistics. There is no closing time by which the room has to be empty, no other group walking past your tables, and nobody shutting the bar because house rules say so.
Five minutes' walk away the woods begin. An activity outdoors need not start with everyone getting into a car.

What you can do here as a company
Most activities start on the grounds or within walking distance. That saves travel time and it saves arranging: you walk outside and you begin. Anything we do not run ourselves, we arrange through regular partners nearby.
Klootschieten
Teams walk a route against each other with one ball per team. Whoever finishes in the fewest throws wins. It works on the heath and it works in the rain.

A route with assignments that the group completes in sub-teams. Useful when you want colleagues who rarely speak to spend an hour together.

Barbecue on the terrace
The terrace faces south. The barbecue is available for a fixed amount covering gas and cleaning; the food we arrange through the kitchen.

Eighteen holes at Landal Orveltemarke, a few hundred metres away. Anyone can join in, including people who have never golfed.

The kitchen is professional and you are welcome to use it. A chef can also be hired for a cooking workshop; he works with Arabic, Indian and Syrian cuisine.

All prices are per person and include hire of the hall. From 8 people. Surcharges for an overnight stay: single room € 18.50 and tourist tax € 2.95 per person. Activities are charged on top.

Why a company outing runs differently here
At an events venue you share the grounds. You notice it at the moments that matter: the group taking a break next to you, the time slot you have to fit into, the hall being reset in between for the group after you.
We let Orvelter Hof to one group at a time. From Monday to Thursday the grounds are quiet — no weekend groups, no other guests on the playground, no cars arriving. Your programme sets the rhythm of the day, not the building's schedule.
At weekends the house is more often booked by several groups. In that case do ask about availability; a company outing usually falls on a weekday anyway.

For a company outing the venue works from 8 people. The large hall seats up to 36 theatre-style and up to 30 at round tables; there is also a separate room for a maximum of 20. If the group stays over, there are 17 twin rooms, together sleeping 36.
A four-hour session starts at € 45.50 per person, or € 59.50 with lunch. A full day with lunch is € 88.50, and with dinner, an overnight stay and breakfast from € 179.50. Hire of the hall, coffee, tea, projector, flip chart and wifi are always included. Activities are charged on top: klootschieten € 2.75 per person, a GPS trail € 6.00.
On the grounds themselves: volleyball, the terrace with a barbecue, the games attic with a table tennis table and the kitchen for a cooking workshop. Within walking distance: klootschieten and walking routes across the heath, and pitch & putt a few hundred metres away. Further afield but arrangeable: GPS trails and a Solex tour. Yes. Tell us when you enquire and the kitchen will cook accordingly. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free and allergies are no problem; we just want to know well in advance rather than at dinner.
In Witteveen, in the middle of Drenthe. It is roughly a 25-minute drive from Assen and Emmen, 20 from Hoogeveen, and about an hour from Groningen or Zwolle. There is ample free parking right by the door. Public transport is more awkward; most groups come by car and share lifts.
